When asked if the girls would like to do a community project they unanimously agreed they would like to help the food bank as this was last year’s project also.
The 8th-and 7th-grade volleyball girls offered a challenge to see which class could bring in the most Food Bank items.
The winner of the contest was the Barton County Food Bank, which will receive 552 items collected by the teams.
“By doing this project, the girls learn that everyone could use help sometimes, and they can reach out to help improve the welfare of their community.” said coach Jessica Nairn. “It’s not around the holidays so people sometimes tend to forget the need for donations is year round.
