The Great Bend Recreation Commission will host Mad Science: Edison’s Workbench Kids Day Out, October 24-25.
Kids will team up with fellow camp inventors to explore the inventions of others, including kids, women, Rube Goldberg and Thomas Edison, drawing inspiration from the wacky and practical. The goal of this camp is to understand that we have no limitations.
Mad Scientists (www.kansascity.madscience.org) have engaged over 1 million children in the Greater Kansas City area since 2002. Teaching science invites children to see themselves as scientists and encourages their curiosity.
This camp will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Thursday, October 24 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, October 25, at the Great Bend Rec Activity Center, 2715 18th St. It is for children 7–12 years of age. The entry fee is $60. Pizza, fruit and beverages will be provided on Friday. Snacks will be provided both days. The entry deadline is Thursday, October 17.
