The Great Bend Gun Show is happening this weekend at the Great Bend Expo Complex at the Barton County Fairgrounds. 40 vendors will be on hand to answer questions and help shoppers find what they’re looking for. The show is open until 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Rex Kehrli is the organizer of the Great Bend Gun Show going on this weekend at Expo 1 at the Barton County Fairgrounds. This is the second year he’s brought the show to Great Bend.

“We like this area,” he said. “There’s a lot of hunting around here, so the show is well attended, and it draws from a pretty wide area, with some of our customers coming from Pratt, Dodge, and Hays.”

Kehrli and vendors were in Wichita the week before, and will be in Kansas City next weekend. He organizes shows year round all over Kansas and the western states, as well as Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia.

The show in January is his only Great Bend show. It features around 40 vendors, with about half of the tables dedicated to both handguns and long guns. There were others selling a wide variety of accessories, knives, and ammunition, as well as a wide variety of gun owners manuals, military history books, and lifestyle books with hunting tips to private investigation techniques.

Show doors will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. An admission fee ($10 for adults; $4 for kids) is charged at the door.
