Kansas Governor Mark Parkinson has officially declared Oct. 17-23 as International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW), 2010.

Historically, IIPW has honored infection preventionists and their work in educating healthcare professionals and administrators, legislators, and consumers about the importance of reducing healthcare-associated infections. This year’s theme, "Infection Prevention: It’s Everyone’s Business" really touches upon the role that we all play in protecting patient safety and reducing the burden of HAIs.
