Quilts of Valor November 2017
Carton Garner, United States Navy and United States Marine Corps veteran, was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on Nov. 24, at the American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend. The quilt top was made by Linda Shull; quilting by Amy Schartz Mellor. Carlton served from 1955 to 1959 as a medic with the Fifth Marine Field Unit.
