Students put pencil to paper and create happy notes to share with others as a sign of caring and positivity. A workshop last semester by Joe Coles encouraged positive behavior and empowered students to make a difference. - photo by Photos courtesy of Great Bend USD 428

Forget texting. A project at Great Bend Middle School is going old school.
Inspired by Motivational Speaker Joe Coles, the GBMS Student Council is starting an initiative to stop bullying. The project helped the semester end on a happy note – literally.
Members shared what they learned from Coles with other students during advisory classes and completed two different projects. They had students participate in a positive circle and also taught them how to write happy notes by spreading kind words.
