OH WHAT A NIGHT! We had over 124 people at the library Friday for a free meal provided by friends of the library. The delicious meal of pulled pork, cheesy potatoes, yummiest green beans, THREE flavors of muffins was cooked by the Dallas Minks family and Bob and Debra Minks. For dessert, a coupon for free ice cream at the Trojan Pop Shop was handed out.
Jan Turner and friends played and sang music for over two hours to add a really special atmosphere to the whole evening! The new backyard looks great with landscaping and two artistic quilt-style panels made by the children of the community during the Stafford Recreation Summer Program. Thank you, Alicia Minks, for helping the kids make these beautiful “quilts.”
When it is cooler, stop and enjoy our little reading spot. It was a fantastic community event! Thanks everyone for coming!
The summer activities are over, so we need to look ahead to the cooler days of fall. Save the date for a very special workshop with Marcia Bauerle making Mandala Boxes, Nov. 17 at 2:30 p.m. Marcia is an SHS alumna with a great career in art. Go to https://www.marciabauerle.com/ or Marcia Bauerle Art/ Imperial, Nebraska on Facebook. Mandala boxes are her new adventure. If you don’t know what these are (I didn’t) you can google them to start getting ideas for your next art creation.
We are thinking of a few other workshops so stay tuned for more fun activities at Larabee Library. We are also looking forward to Oktoberfest. Stafford is the Center of the Universe on the first Saturday of October, so plan on coming for all the fun, Friday night and all day Saturday! Alumni, “get your wheels on and skate” to the Alumni Supper Saturday night! Always delicious food and great memories!
