HUTCHINSON — Bill Hicks, 93, died Dec. 18, 2013 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 13, 1920, in Peabody, he was the son of Virgil and Lasca Davis Hicks. In 1938, he graduated from Great Bend High School and then joined the United States Army, serving in World War II. On June 3, 1944. he married Pamela Edgington, in London, England. She died Dec. 19, 1995. He worked as a driller for Dialog Drilling Company for many years.
Mr. Hicks was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, David Hicks and wife Janean, Inman; and Gary Hicks, McPherson; three daughters, Susan Lockwood and husband Steve, Topeka; Venita Scott, Hoisington; and Sondra Satern and husband Dwight, Henryetta, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a sister Juanita Rockwell.
