ELLINWOOD — Kelly Dean Miller, 62, passed away at Ellinwood District Hospital on May 16th, 2022. Born in Ellinwood, Kan. on Dec. 21st, 1959 he was the son of George and Phyllis (Alpers) Miller. Kelly graduated from Ellinwood High in 1978 later he graduated from Kansas State University in 1999 where he received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He was also a member of Acacia fraternity.
A lifetime Ellinwood resident Kelly worked as a farmer/rancher and entrepreneur. He married Fawnia Nagel at St. John Lutheran Church on Sept. 1st, 1990.
Memberships include St. John Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and on the church council. Other organizations include Barton County Fair Board, Cougar Booster Club, Farm Bureau Board, 4H Organization, National Grain and Sorghum Board, Jaycee Organization, and Sons of the American Legion.
Survivors include wife, Fawnia Miller, Ellinwood, Kan.; and sons, Saul Miller, Ellinwood, Kan. and Colin Miller, Ellinwood, Kan.; and mother, Phyllis Miller. Kelly was preceded in death by his father George Miller.
Celebration of life will take place 11 a.m. Friday, May 20th at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev’s Thierfelder and Abbott officiating. Cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church or Ellinwood Chamber of Commerce (digital sign) in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
