GREAT BEND — Luetta Mae ‘Lu’ Jenisch, 81, died August 3, 2011 at the Ellinwood District Hospital.
She was born Dec. 1, 1929 at Ellinwood, the daughter of Joseph ‘Joe’ Ferdinand and Kathryn Theresa (Heinz) Jenisch.
Miss Jenisch attended St. Joseph Grade School, Ellinwood, and was a 1947 graduate of Ellinwood High School. She attended St. Rose School of Nursing, earning her Registered Nurse license in 1950. She was a registered nurse for Dr. Findley Law, Ellinwood. Miss Jenisch was a lifetime Ellinwood and Great Bend resident. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Survivors include two brothers: Dan Jenisch and wife Gail, Billings, Mo.; Richard Jenisch and wife Judy, Sublette; four nephews, Bryan Jenisch, Gregory Jenisch, Andrew Jenisch and Jason Jenisch; four nieces, Julie Corbett, Sarah Jane Harter, Jill Stout and Jamie Immediato, and numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Wally Jenisch; and a sister, Jeanette Haak.
An Altar Society Rosary is scheduled at 4 p.m., Friday, Aug. 5 at the Bryant Funeral Home. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5 at the Bryant Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 6 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend with Celebrant Father Don Bedore. Interment will be at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood. Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 5 at the Bryant Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to Prince of Peace Parish, in care of the Bryant Funeral Home.
