ABBYVILLE — William "Glenn" Flickinger, 90, died May 13 at Mennonite Friendship Manor, South Hutchinson. He was born June 12, 1920, in Abbyville, the son of William H. and Laura Warner Flickinger. He was a 1939 graduate of Nickerson High School. He married Mabel J. Disque on May 7, 1961 in Holyrood. She died April 9, 2011. A resident of Abbyville all of his life, he was a farmer, a custom cutter, and a rough neck in the oil fields. He had attended Missionary Church, Hutchinson and was a member of the El Dorado Camping Club.
Survivors include a son, Richard L. Flickinger and wife Wendy, Abbyville; a daughter, Laura M. Rueger and husband Larry, Cookson, Okla.; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, William H. Flickinger; and two sisters, Armetha Heighbrecht and Madaline Baker.
