The anniversary tradition will continue with a balloon launch and other activities at Heartland Cancer Center (HCC), 204 Cleveland, on Sunday, Sept. 25.

The public is invited to the HCC’s eighth-anniversary celebration that begins at 1:30 p.m. with refreshments and tours of the facility. The Circle of Life Balloon Launch will occur at 3 p.m.

"We encourage the community to join us in remembering those who have ended their battle with cancer, as well as the survivors and caregivers," said Dana Foss, facilitator of the HCC Support Group. "Our group is hosting these special activities so we can all come together to remember and celebrate. We are looking forward to meeting all those who attend."

Foss, who is a cancer survivor, noted that three colors of balloons will be available, representing memorials, survivors and caregivers. Those who want to indicate a certain person’s name on a balloon tag may do so in advance at HCC or on the day of the event.

"This will be a great way to bring our community together," Foss commented. "It seems that all of us have been touched by cancer in one way or another. Those of us in the support group are eager for what promises to be a day of sharing stories and emotions with our neighbors."

HCC is part of the St. Rose Ambulatory & Surgery Center family.
