WASHINGTON—Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement on a deal to update the United States-Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS) signed today by President Donald Trump:
“Today’s agreement to modernize the U.S.- Korea Free Trade Agreement is good news for Kansas farmers, ranchers and manufacturers,” said Rep. Estes. “Trade with South Korea has opened up an important market for beef, pork, corn, barley, sorghum, steel, auto and aerospace. A modernized agreement is welcome news for these industries in Kansas and around the country. I congratulate President Trump on securing this agreement and will continue urging the administration to open more markets through free and fair trade.”
Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the House Committee on Homeland Security.
