Children 8-14 years old have an opportunity to go fishing with a law enforcement officer the morning of August 12 at Veterans Memorial Park.

Only 30 spots at available for “Cast with a Cop,” taking place from 8 a.m. to noon that day.

Registration is free and available at the Great Bend Police Department, 1217 Williams St., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Participants are welcome to bring their own rod, reel and tackle if desired. Door prizes will be awarded.

This event is sponsored by the City of Great Bend and Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
