The week of November 11, Sunflower Diversified’s recycling program will be collecting Electronic Waste and bicycles while joining thousands of local organizers holding recycling events across the country to celebrate America Recycles Day, the only nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States.
Items will be collected at the Sunflower Recycling facility located at 5523 10th Street in Great Bend. The public is invited to drop off computers, printers, televisions, and other electronic waste which will then be transported to a re-claiming facility. Bicycles will also be accepted for transfer to the Barton County Landfill for their recycling efforts in conjunction with Ellsworth Correctional Facility.
“Sunflower encourages the local area to participate in this event and keep electronic waste out of the landfill and to donate bicycles to a very worthwhile project ” said Dan Zimmerscheid, Sunflower’s drop off Manager. “We are very proud to be able to offer this service with the support of Mark Witt at the Barton County landfill” added Sarah Krom, Recycling Coordinator. She encourages those wanting more information about recycling at Sunflower Diversified Services to visit http://www.sunflowerdiv.com or call 620-792-1321.
