A traffic stop in Great Bend Friday night resulted in a drug arrest, Great Bend Police Chief Steve Haulmark said.

At about 10 p.m. Friday, officers with the Great Bend Police Department stopped a vehicle in the 2800 block of Broadway Avenue for a moving infraction. During the traffic stop, K9 Menta was utilized to conduct a free-air sniff, where she alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics, Haulmark said.

While searching the vehicle, officers located methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside. The Driver of the vehicle, Jonathan Jones, 26, was placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, no drug tax stamp and traffic charges.

He was transported to the Barton County Jail where he was booked in lieu of bond.
