Todd L. VanWinkle 1962 - 2016

NEOSHO, Mo. — Todd L. VanWinkle, 54, passed away Oct. 19, 2016, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark., following a sudden illness. He was born April 11, 1962, in Great Bend, the son of James and Kathryn (Riedel) VanWinkle. Todd lived and attended school in Great Bend until moving to Winfield in 1976 where he finished his education. He served in the U.S. Army. He found new life in Neosho, Mo. in 2008 when he gave his life to the Lord and faithfully served Him by ministering to many people. Todd worked many construction jobs in the area; he had worked as Workforce Director of Teen Challenge of the Four States and was most recently employed by Steve Reed Remodeling and Construction. He was very handy and loved to fish and was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Todd married Paula Rowe on June 30, 2016 in Neosho and she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include his father and stepmother, Jim and Karolyn VanWinkle of Winfield; daughter, Amy Sawyer of Pittsburg; granddaughter, Gracie; sister, Jamie Isbell and husband Gerald, of Dallas, Texas; stepson, Darren Rowe of the home; two stepbrothers, Stacy Kowalsky and wife Meredith of Winfield, and Shawn Kowalsky of Texas; one niece; three nephews; and many friends, including his special “fishing buddy,” Jerry Valdois. Todd is preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn VanWinkle; brother, Brad VanWinkle; wife, Angelia VanWinkle; and stepson, Matthew Paul Rowe.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 24 at Clark Funeral Home in Granby, Mo., with Denny Kruse officiating. Interment will follow in the Dice Cemetery in Fairview. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Todd may be made to Faithful Friends Animal Advocates in care of the funeral home.
