Karilyn Carmody and Ryan Metzen were united in marriage on July 4 in a double ring ceremony officiated by Father Joseph Labak. The bride is the daughter of William and Judi Carmody. The groom is the son of John and Susan Metzen.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white strapless dress with beaded bodice and a veil handmade by her grandmother.
Maid of honor was Jessica Allen, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Carissa Alabise and Lucy, Noelle and Clare Allen, nieces of the bride.
Best man was John Allen, brother-in-law of the groom. Groomsmen were William Carmody, brother of the bride and John Paul Allen, nephew of the bride.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Medina Ohio High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Ursaline College, and a masters degree from University of Akron. She is employed by Medina City Schools as a special education teacher.
The groom is a 1993 graduate of Great Bend High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Fort Hays State University. A former sports editor for the Great Bend Tribune, he is employed by the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission.  
After a honeymoon in Ireland, the couple resides in Wadsworth, Ohio.
