Three Quilts of Valor awarded - May 2026
Ronald Dodson
United States Army veteran, Sergeant Ronald Dodson, was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on May 16, 2026, at the American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend. Dodson served from 1971 to 1973. The quilt top was made by Margaret Evers; quilting by Amy Schartz Mellor. Golden Plains Quilts of Valor awarded three Quilts of Valor this month at the American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend. This Quilts of Valor group started locally in 2013 and has honored over 1,200 with a handmade, patriotic-theme quilt, wrapping them in gratitude, care and warmth.
