Bart L. Allison, 39, of Great Bend, died Sept. 16 at the Logan County Hospital in Oakley. He was born May 3, 1971, at Great Bend, the son of Robert Lee and Barbara Jean (Shoulders) Allison. He was a roughneck for H2 Drilling and was a lifetime Great Bend resident.

Mr. Allison was a member of First Church of God, Great Bend. He was born into the patch. He lived, worked and died in the patch. It wasn’t just what he did, but it was part of who he was.

Survivors include two daughters, Chelsie Kay Allison and Andrea L. Allison, both of Lyons; four brothers, Jeffrey L. Allison and wife Dana, Gregory L. Allison and wife Dianna and Stanley L. Allison and wife Lisa, all of Great Bend, and John L. Allison of Pittsburg; one sister, Melissa Urban and husband George of Great Bend; several nieces and nephews, four great-nieces and two great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Lee Allison, Jr.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Church of God, Great Bend, with Pastor Tom Swain officiant. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested to the Children’s Education Fund, in care of the funeral home.
