Barton County Sheriff

A Chevy Blazer driven by Garrett Hayes was northbound on SE 110 Ave. at 7:40 a.m. Thursday when he reportedly ran the stop sign, hitting a van driven by Cassandre Batchman, who was westbound on SE 30 Road. No ambulance was dispatched, but Batchman sustained a small cut to her thumb and the van went in the ditch.

A BCSO patrol car struck a deer in the 1300 block of NW 90 Ave. at 2:12 a.m. Friday.

 

Great Bend Police

Thursday reports:

Items were stolen from a vehicle at 3909 Lakin Ave.

A vehicle driven by Mary Straub backed from a parking stall in the 1300 block of Main Street and struck a vehicle driven by Lonna Mead, who was southbound at 1:11 p.m.

A Great Bend resident reported sending a Moneygram for a motorcycle he purchased, but he never received it. Loss was $2,125.

A 1986 Ford F-150 was taken from 3200 Lakin Ave. and left at McDonald’s Thursday afternoon.

Someone damaged the screen on the Automatic Teller Machine at 1017 Harrison St.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made five ambulance runs on Thursday. There were no fires.
