Chris Nicolaus “Nick” Foltmer was born Oct. 9, 1948 to Paul Foltmer and Venus “Eileen” (Raile/Foltmer) Willard in Wray, Colo. He passed away peacefully July 15, 2017 at the age of 68 at his home in Drake Colo.
Nick graduated from Great Bend High School in 1966 and went on to get his Bachelor of Arts from Elysion College of Liberal Arts in 1982.
He was a restaurateur owning Trish’s restaurant in Loveland, Colo. in the late 80’s and Granny’s Kitchen from 1997-2010 with his wife Diane in Great Bend. After moving back to Colorado in 2010, he worked as the manager of Outdoor World in Estes Park, Colo. for eight years. Nick was very active and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors working around his home on Storm Mountain. Having a soft heart for animals, Nick and Diane had many dogs and cats. Throughout his life Nick was involved in many things and was active in the Summit Church of Estes Park as well as the Chapel in Big Thompson Canyon. Everyone that knew him loved him dearly.
He is survived by his loving wife Diane E. (Williams/Crane) Foltmer, and three children: daughter Kimberley K. (Foltmer) and William S. Gallagher Jr. of Loveland Colo,; step-son Christopher and Jennifer Crane of Lake Worth, Fla.; and step-daughter Darin (Crane) and Rod Koehler of Denver, Colo. and four step-grandchildren. Nick was preceded in death by his parents and step-father Harold Willard, brothers Larry and Jon Foltmer.
Burial service will be at 2 p.m. on July 24, 2017 at Grandview Cemetery, Wray, Colo. All are welcome to share as we release him to God.
Nick will always and forever be in our hearts and memories. Go with the grace of God.
