HOISINGTON – Ellsworth's Ryan Ohl scored six fourth-quarter points and the Bearcats outscored Ellinwood 58-57 in a wild first round Hoisington Winter Jam shootout. The Bearcats outscored the Eagles 9-1 for a 58-53 lead after trailing 52-49.
Ohl scored 13 points and Lexi West added 12 points.
Ellinwood (5-5) converted nine 3-pointers to outscore Ellsworth 27-12 from long range. Brittany Simpson scored 26 points, including four 3-pointers. Mary Dimitt added 11 points.
