The Golden Belt Community Concert Association will present the Water Coolers, an award-winning musical comedy troupe, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the Great Bend Municipal Auditorium, Lakin and Stone.

The concert is available to concert association members. Full-time students will be admitted to the concert for a $5 donation at the door. The auditorium will open at 6:30 p.m.

With original music and parodies of familiar songs, the Water Coolers make people laugh at the headaches and hassles of everyday life and work. Their award-winning song-and-sketch comedy provides a high-energy, laugh-out-loud evening of fun for all audiences.

The Water Coolers take a humorous look at what people on the job go through just to make every week happen. Their parodies deal with such situations as getting stuck on hold when trying to get through to an important client or sales representative; being stalked by parents selling candy and other items for their kids; getting immobilized at the airport by flight delays; and being judged by how many words a minute they can type with their thumbs (texting on their Blackberries). The Water Coolers poke fun at those frustrating predicaments, turning them into hilarious comedy sketches.

Founded in 2002, the group began with a PBS special recorded at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood after being signed by Sony Classical. The Water Coolers received the 2009 Ensemble Entertainer of the Year Spotlight Award from Event Solutions Magazine.

A unique group of New York comedy writers, directors, and business people combine their talents to create the Water Coolers’ funny, smart, authentic take on work and life. Based in New York City, the Water Coolers have welcomed some of the finest and most exciting comics and singers in professional show business.

Resumes among current cast members include performances at top comedy clubs including Igby’s, the Improv, the Comic Strip, The Broadway Comedy Club, the Icehouse, and either the Broadway or Broadway touring productions of such shows as "Rock of Ages," "The Drowsy Chaperone," "Spamalot," "Wicked," "The Lion King," "In The Heights," "Les Miserables," "Mamma Mia," "Grease," "Nine," "Fiddler On The Roof," "Saturday Night Fever," and many more.
